Willie Nelson was cited on drug counts in St. Martin Parish after traffic stop of his tour bus Monday allegedly yielded more than a pound of marijuana and a bag of psychedelic mushrooms and we are supposed to be surprised at this.
Willie has been the brunt of Hollywood jokes and shows like Letterman and Leno for so long that anyone who thought otherwise is pretty much out of the loop.
What struck me was the amount confiscated, more than a pound of weed! Well, I personally do not indulge, heck if it is stronger than a coffee I am out in left field somewhere so I avoid, but I do know if that would have been me or anyone less public we would be seeing a motel without windows right now.
Willie is 73 years old and the fact that he is still indulging cracks me up. Heck, with that amount he was doing more than that, he was partying his butt off, no wonder he writes great music.
After it was all said and done, I am sure that Willie could be heard strumming and singing, ‘On the Road Again” as they drove off into the sunset.
