Goodbye Crocodile Hunter, you will be missed.

The Views of The Ranter

Australia said goodbye to the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin yesterday, among videos remembering his life and tearful comments by Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Cameron Diaz and others.

It was more of a celebration of his life then a closure of it and his family wanted it that way. Irwin was killed in a freak accident while swimming next to a Manta Ray when one of the Ray’s barbs entered his heart killing him instantly.

Flag flew at half-mast and everyone gathered to bid farewell. A seat was left empty signifying the emptiness Irwin left.

At the end of the ceremony, Irwin's utility vehicle, packed with camping gear and his favorite surfboard, was driven from the stadium - through an honor guard of Australia Zoo employees.

The animal world has lost a great advocate for their survival and we can only hope someone steps up to take his place.

Goodbye Crocodile Hunter, you lived your life to the fullest and left it as your once prophesized.
