He gets no respect

The Iranian, UK captive situation just keeps flowing faster and faster out of control. Today, the new services is reporting that the Iranian ambassador to Russia renewed a threat Iranian officials made earlier this week, saying 15 British sailors held by Iran could be tried for violating international law.

Iran's state news agency IRNA reported Saturday, that Iran had launched a legal investigation of the British sailors. "They will be tried if there is enough evidence of guilt," Gholam-Reza Ansari was quoted as saying.

By now, the entire world has realized these captives were trapped intentionally, well, all except Iran, they simply changed their territorial boundaries to affect the capture in the first place. Of course, they were allowed to do this simply by saying they do not recognize the boundaries that had been set. Must be nice, we should do that too.

This entire debacle was put into motion as a tool for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to get a little respect within his country. This throw-back to the Stone Age knew he had to do something, the religious leaders were mad, the people were really mad, so, refuse to acknowledge the territorial boundaries and grab some British military, sit back, makes threats and wait.

This statement turns out to be one of the very rare thoughts that I throw out from time to time that can actually be verified by their latest demands. Iran's stance that the British government could resolve the crisis by admitting the sailors entered Iranian waters.

I amaze myself; I should be a foreign policy expert, yes, that would work, except for one small thing. I would be filmed by the news services standing in front of the White House every morning, middle fingers in the air, doing my, screw the world dance. I figure, they hate us, so let's just put all the money and effort in our country, let them fight it out and we will simply pick up the pieces.

Basically, here is the picture; the world is on the precipice of war because Ahmadinejad is a spoiled brat, not getting enough attention from abroad, and too little respect from his country. One thing is certain, the more he ticks off the Iranian people and the religious governing body, the shorter his life expectancy may be.
