A Thinking Award

Imagine my surprise when I receive an email from Yankeemom telling me that she has proudly awarded a Thinking Award. I really liked this concept for an award; this one is actually commending the blogger for their thoughts, not just the overall concept of the blog.

It was suggested that the rules be posted so that others may accept their awards and nominate more to keep out thought process going. Here is the quote from Yankeemom that will explain it a lot better than I can.

Should you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging. I thought it would be appropriate to include them with the meme.

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,

3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.

One of the conditions of receiving the award is listing five blogs which make me think. This will be a difficult task as I visit many blogs with each one making me think in different manners and directions. Another thought to this is I would have liked to list Yankeemom, but that has already been done. As long as she knows I would have picked her, that is what counts.

It is difficult; as you find yourself not wanting to let those out that you visit often. Taking it down to five is not easy, but here they are.

I would have to begin with Redneck Central, Wild Bill’s outlook, comments and discussions of his life are wonderful.

Fear And Loathing - The Gonzo Papers, thoughtful and at time can really make you say, “”I never thought of it that way

A Soldier's Perspective, where would any of us be without the insight of CJ, Cpl M and others. Cpl M is now back in the sandbox with his Marine unit and should be in our prayers as with all of the men and women serving.

How could I ever start my mornings without, Redneck's Revenge? Stop by the boys from Texas and get a dose of the truth, Texas style.

Last, but not least is, A Soldier’s Mind, I always find the writing real, informative and thoughtful.

I simply cannot allow this to pass without two honorable mentions; both are non-profits and serve vital roles in today’s world.

One is New Parents Network, though it is not a blog, but a site with a wealth of information for new parents the world over. This site has always been near and dear to my heart and I highly recommend it to anyone who discovered that children do not come with owners manuals. Well, now they do at New Parents Network.

The other is just as near and dear to me, Honor the Fallen, and their opening explains it better than I can. “a nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to honoring the memory of American service men and women and government employees who have died while supporting the war on terrorism.”

Thanks, but no-thanks, Ranter..

For what I write to be deemed worthy of readin by you and my other friends is quite enuff reward for me.. But on top of that, for you, and RT at Redneck's Revenge, to thank that I'm also worthy of havin my thoughts and opinions included on your sites is an extra that caint be measured..

It takes a lot of pieces of the puzzle to get a good idea of what is goin on, and we all need each other to be able to gather those pieces.. Unlike many on the Left, we tend to not follow the "Big Dogs" and take what they thank and say as "gospel".. Many times the Big Dogs just leave me scratchin my head and sayin "huh ?" .. But I have a habit of leavin many other folks with that same feelin too tho !!

But there are many people that make me thank about stuff.. Sometimes there are many of em even on the same subject.. Rush or Victor Davis Hanson may have a take on somethin one way, and then you or RT or MamaBear may have another, and they ALL be right.. Just cause they are different dont mean they are wrong, but the difference will make you thank about it tho..

Everybody that expresses their opinion deserves this award.. Not just us on the "Front Page" either, but those in our comments too.. Its always a "work in progress" and to award one and not the other is a true dis-service to them and ourselves..

What we ALL get from our expressions is enuff of its own reward.. Knowledge is power, but only gets its just reward when shared..

I'll proudly accept!

I don't know how it worked out that you chose to honour me and that I missed word of it.

This means a lot of me because, as I have previously expressed, I respect you.

Thank you very much. I will make a point of completing the post requirement this coming week.

I'm hoping that you have posted in the newest Gonzo Blog Carnival. If not, sometime soon.
