Justice can bite you in the butt..
Can there be any more joy in Whoville than that of a disabled, double-amputee Iraq-war vet suing Michael Moore for $85 million dollars. It seems that Mr. “I hate everything Republican and I have a camera” Moore recycled an old interview that had been done, edited it, turned it around using it to fit Moore’s anti-war film, "Fahrenheit 9/11."
Sgt. Peter Damon, 33, having paid a dear price is a strong supporter of both Bush and the invasion of Iraq. It appears Sgt. Damon never gave his permission for his statements to be used, let alone his words changed to reflect an anti-war attitude.
Putting it in a nutshell, it appears Sgt. Damon was on a gurney exclaiming he had pain still where his arms had been before the amputation and was discussing the pain medication. Moore, edited the entire, what some are stating, “Gut wrenching scene” into an anti-war statement by a brave wounded soldier, in a quote from comments Sgt. Damon made, “"I was complaining about the pain I would've been having [if it weren't for the painkiller],"
There are quite a few blogs, news items and stories pertaining to Sgt. Damon and the litigation, in fact far too many to be linking here. I am just supplying the main story released by Reuters this morning.
